SF - Structural Engineer I
Sioux Falls, SD
*Full-Time position in our Sioux Falls office.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program
Experience:
- Zero plus years.
- Exposure to and/or experience in general building construction.
Licensure/Certification:
- Passed Fundamental of Engineering Exam (FEE)
- Valid State Driver’s License.
Direction Received:
- Receives close supervision on all aspects of assignments.
Managerial Responsibilities:
Essential Responsibilities:
In accordance with established criteria and with Heyer Engineering best practices:
- Acquires limited knowledge and develops basic engineering skills.
- Applies prescribed techniques and procedures to perform assigned tasks.
- provides engineering design services.

- Involved in outreach activities with community service organizations

Field and Construction Site Environments:
- When conducting inspections and investigations, may have exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, heat, cold, and inclement weather conditions

- Ability to talk and hear is required.
- Good mobility and dexterity: regularly required to stand or sit for long periods of time, walking, bending, and climbing to inspect work areas and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- May be asked to do large format filing.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and inspect visually designs/drafts and sites.
- Travel to client/vendor locations.
- Physically able to conduct field/site inspections.

Compensation
$58,000 - $62,700 per year
